    Description

This WW1 1917 British Pattern 1907 P07 SMLE Enfield Sword Bayonet is in very good condition and shows only modest signs of age and service. It was maybe by Sanderson in October of 1917 and still retains a significant amount of it's original bluing. The blade has been honestly sharpened and a strong point is still retained. The wooden grips are free of cracks or any damage and the grip screws freely turn. The blade pommel appears to have had a unit marking removed at some point. Of particular note, this bayonet has strong traces of dark green paint. Green paint on 1907 bayonets is commonly associated with Australian service. The paint is clearly seen on the crossguard and on the pommel. Also of note, there is a small "Arrow A" stamp on the blade tang near the pommel. While this is not the more commonly encountered "Arrow D" Australian, it does appear to be an arrow. Please review the photos closely and make your own conclusions and as always, examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
