    Vintage Kobenhavn (Copenhagen) Lucky Horse Shoe Temp Gage>
    DESCRIPTION
    **THERE IS NO MERCURY IN THIS PIECE**. I have no idea how old this temperture gage is but based on the printed degree scale, Id guess its from the 40s or 50s. (Of course, collectors will know exactly.) This piece is 5.5 inches tall and 3 inches across the middle. The only thing I know about the metal is that it is NOT magnetic; therefore brass immediately comes to mind. The small medallion at the bottom shows what looks like a naked lady sitting on a rock. Around her is written KOBENHAVN. On the back is the word ZERO. Could that be mfg’s brand?? Blem: the original mercury tube has been lost but the clips that hold it are still good, so a replacement would be easy. Item has not been cleaned up.
