P1888 Lee Metford Bayonet, El Salvador Leather Scabbard

For sale is an original British Lee Metford P1888 bayonet in a custom leather scabbard engraved El Salvador.  My guess is that this rig is a souvenir of some kind of rebel or political upheaval in the 1920's when obsolete weapons such as the Lee Metford rifle may still have been in use.  It has been carefully cleaned without abrasives and the markings are plentiful and crisp with a 12/1898 date.  The leather scabbard is missing some fringe but is in very good condition.
This is an eye catching souvenir rig from the jungles of the Americas, and the wood, brass, and steel have mellowed to a pleasing finish.  Study the photos carefully so you know exactly what you will receive.
