This component replacement will have your Synology DS1815+ or DS1515+ back running like new and no further power issues.   The surface mount component should be accompanied with a new power supply; but most often will succeed to resurrect your Synology with no further troubleshooting.
You will not need to jump any power settings nor need to install a resistor if you apply this fix; this is not the resistor fix.
Included are detailed instructions & parts which will need an experienced solder technician.
It is suggested to verify your that power supply is good before this purchase, although I have found that this will much more commonly be the symptom of units not turning on / intermittently turning off than the power supplies.
While this will fix the most common causes of DS1515+/DS1815+, there is no guarantee that this will fix your model if it had a power surge or other devastating (and rare) power issue.
I previously sold dozens of these on another account with resounding success and I have personally applied this fix to numerous systems.
