    Description

    Siebe Gorman of London is one of the oldest and most respected names in the field of deep sea diving equipment. Their iconic "standard diving dress" uniform at the turn of the 20th century consisted of a heavy copper dive helmet, a waterproof canvas suit, and a specially designed dive knife with a screw threaded retention system between itself and the scabbard. This Antique Early 1900s SIEBE GORMAN LONDON DIVE KNIFE is in fair condition, with heavy chipping to the blade tip, moderate chipping to the remainder of the blade edges, heavy pitting and patina at each side of the blade, some scattered chipping and cracking to the leather "bumper pad" between the guard and screw threaded retention piece, a deep crack in the upper back handle, some light whitish stick tag residue at the lower front handle, some scattered scratching to the handle and pommel, and with moderate overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in fair shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 6 1/2" double edge dagger blade, sports the classic flat sided dark reddish brown hardwood handle, and is faintly stamped at the lower left side of the blade with its maker, the famous "SIEBE. GORMAN & Co". It boasts the original brass guard, pommel with screw nut, and screw threaded retention piece, and is an honest example of a very rare, original Antique Early 1900s SIEBE GORMAN LONDON DIVE KNIFE.
